Information About Our FeesBCWC is a private non-profit agency providing alcohol/drug and mental health services to residents of Wood County. Our mission is helping people lead better lives by providing comprehensive care for crisis, addiction and mental health recovery.
Through our contract with the Wood County Alcohol/Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board, we are able to offer subsidized services to those persons unable to afford to pay the total cost of treatment. In order to offer subsidized treatment we must:
1. Receive verification of your income in order to determine whether or not you qualify for a subsidy
2. Must exhaust all other means of payment, including private insurance, before a subsidy can be requested
Household income will be used to determine whether you are eligible for a subsidized fee. You will need to provide us with the following items to verify your household income:
1. A copy of your previous year’s income tax return
2. Three current pay stubs for each working adult in the household
In the event that you do not provide us with income verification within 30 days of your assessment or do not disclose your income, you will be required to pay the full hourly fee. Non-disclosure of household income and non-payment of assessed fees may result in discontinuance of services until your account is brought up to date.
Insurance:
If we are an approved provider for your insurance and all necessary insurance information is provided to us, we can bill your insurance company to help pay all or part of the cost for services. Any over-payment on your actual charges due to insurance payments will be refunded to you. Our clients are expected to provide complete insurance information and copies of their insurance cards and/or program eligibility information.
Clients who do not wish to use their insurance programs will be charged the full fee for services.
If your insurance requires a referral from your primary care physician, you will be responsible for getting the first referral prior to the scheduling of your assessment appointment. Likewise, if your insurance company requires pre-authorization for mental health or substance abuse treatment services, this will need to be obtained prior to the scheduling of your assessment appointment. We will be glad to assist you with this if you need assistance. Please ask to speak with an Admissions Specialist if you have any questions or concerns about referrals or pre-authorization.
If your insurance company sends a reimbursement check to you directly, we require that you turn that check over to us for payment of services with the explanation of benefits unless you are already paying the full hourly fees. Failure to turn the check over to BCWC will result in suspension of services, and your account being turned over to our collection services.
Please note that insurance usually does not pay for preventive education programs or case management services that may be recommended.
Payments:
Clients are expected to make regular payments on their accounts at each visit so that fees do not become a financial burden. Our Admission Specialist will work with you to develop a payment plan. Failure to make regular payments may result in treatment being discontinued and/or your account being turned over to our collection service.
Any client who believes that their financial responsibility becomes a hardship may complete a Special Circumstance/Hardship request and provide supporting documentation for consideration of a full or partial fee waiver.
